Jason Scott Hemersbach Obituary - 2021 (2024)

Jason Scott Hemersbach, 50, passed into the arms of Jesus Sunday, December 19, 2021, at Community Howard Hospital. He was born in Kokomo, IN on January 26, 1971, the son ofJoyce E.and the lateFrank J.Hemersbach. On June 4, 1994, he married Jodie Lynn (Birchler) Hemersbach in Skaneateles, NY, and she survives.

Jason was a 1989 graduate of Carroll High School. Following high school, Jason attended Ball State University. Jason proudly served his country in the United States Navy from 1990-1993 during the Gulf War, Operation Desert Storm. And then he received an honorable discharge in 1994. In 1994 he started working at Chrysler where he met his wife and would continue to work there to provide for his family for 28 years. Jason loved doing anything that involved spending time with his 3 daughters and wife. He was a 100% “girl dad” and his daughters fondly remember many times he would play Barbies with them.As a family, they enjoyed many camping trips and loved spending time outdoors together.Jason was a man of faith and accepted Jesus at a young age.

In addition to his wife, Jason is survived by his 3 daughters: Emelia “Emily” Hemersbach, Lindsay Hemersbach, Rachael Hemersbach, and his soon to be son-in-law Ceaser Lopez; his mother Joyce Hemersbach; his brothers Joseph (Gina) Hemersbach and Jeff (Kim) Hemersbach; his nieces and nephews Amanda (Shawn) Hemersbach, Jerome Hemersbach, C.J. (Brittany) Grace, Meagan (David) Griffy, Aaron Birchler, and Aidan Birchler; his mother-in-law Kathleen Birchler; and brother-in-law Chad (Stacy) Birchler.

He was preceded in death by his father Frank James Hemersbach and his father-in-law Richard “Rick” Birchler.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, January 15, 2022, at the First Church of the Nazarene, 2734 S. Washington St., Kokomo, with military honors provided by the United States Navy and the Kokomo VFW Military Rites Team. Memorial contributions may be made in Jason’s memory to the Kokomo Rescue Mission. Messages of condolence may be left online at www.shirleyandstout.com.
