The families of Carrie Fisherand her mother Debbie Reynolds have slowly begun to speak publicly.

On Tuesday, Fisher's half-sisters, actresses Joely and Tricia Fisher (their mother is Connie Stevens and father is Eddie Fisher)appeared on "Good Morning America" to discuss the aftermath of her death.

Carrie Fisher and Reynolds died last week, a day apart.

“I’ve been having an out-of-body experience,” Joelytold host Chris Connelly. “The world lost Carrie and Debbie, of course, andPrincess Leia. But we lost our hero. We lost our mirror.”

“While Reynolds' death so soon after her daughter's may have shocked fans, the Fisher sisters said they were not surprised after spending time with her in the hospital.We had the coolest big sister in the world,” Tricia Fisheradded. “She was a (expletive), gun-toting princess. I mean, who has that?”

“I sat with Debbie, and she said to me that she was praying for more time,” Joely explained. “She kept saying that she wanted more time, and I knew that if Carrie wasn’t going to survive this, then Debbie would not. You knew it. You could feel it in her tiny little beautiful body, you could see it (on)her face. She would not last without her on the planet. She wouldn’t. And she didn’t.”

The sisters are not the only family members who have spoken out afterthe deaths.Over the weekend, Fisher's daughter and Reynolds' granddaughter,Billie Lourd, broke her silencewith a post on Instagram.

Captioning a photo of her younger self with her mother and granddaughter, Lourd wrote, "Receiving all of your prayers and kind words over the past week has given me strength during a time I thought strength could not exist. There are no words to express how much I will miss my Abadaba and my one and only Momby. Your love and support means the world to me."

The popular cable network personality is joining the peaco*ck network, where she will anchor a new, one-hour daytime program,Andrew Lack, chairman of the NBCUniversal News Group, said in a statement Tuesday.

As part of a broad, multiyear deal, Kelly will also anchor a new Sunday evening news magazine show and contributeto NBC’s breaking news, political and special events coverage.

“Megyn is an exceptional journalist and news anchor, who has had an extraordinary career” Lack said. “She’s demonstrated tremendous skill and poise, and we’re lucky to have her.”

NBC said details on Kelly's duties will be announced in the coming months.

This particular project is close to the prince's heart.“I first came (to Africa) in 1997, straight after my mum died," he explained. "My dad told my brother and me to pack our bags — we were going to Africa to get away from it all."

Since then the continenthas become important to him, a place where he can feel "normal."

"My brother and I were brought up outdoors. We appreciate nature and everything about it. But it became more … This is where I feel more like myself than anywhere else in the world. I wish I could spend more time in Africa. I have this intense sense of complete relaxation and normality here."

Susan Sarandon's daughter, Eva Amurri Martino, says her infant son sustained a fractured skull and brain bleeding after being accidentally dropped by a nurse, and she has suffered anxiety in the weeks since the incident.

Martinowrites on her blogthat her night nurse fell asleep and dropped baby Major a few days after Thanksgiving. Martino says the baby, who was born in October, spent two days in the hospital but suffered no permanent brain damage.

She says the night nurse no longer works for her and her husband, former Major League Soccer player Kyle Martino. The actress says the couple no longer has "night time help."

Martino writes that she was overwhelmed with guilt for a time since the accident, but has finally made peace with it.
