In the fascinating backyard in Grounded, there’s an ample variety of items, perks, and other equipment scattered across every region in the game. In this guide, we’ll be uncovering every location players can find BURG.L Chips. BURG.L Chips in Grounded are “missing”, meaning they need to be retrieved and returned to their rightful place. Chips can be exchanged for upgrades – some are based on the story progression while others enhance things like cooking and shop items such as feather roofs. For those unaware of what BURG.L Chips look like, they’re very small and colored white and red.

Most of the missing BURG. L Chips are found inside a lab in their corresponding areas. Other chips are usually found after completing various quests. There is an accumulative 10 BURG. L Chips around the yard. Moreover, this list will also entail further details such as upgrades each chip unlocks, a map, and various tips. We also recommend you acquire these chips in order from 1-11 as the list inscribes.

Grasslands BURG.L Chip

This is the first BURG.L Chip that becomes accessible in the game, right in Oak Lab. The Oak Lab is close to the Oak Tree around the east-central part of the map. As Players are naturally progressing through the story, they’ll come across Oak Lab after they’ve encountered a plume of purple smoke, which leads them to a suspicious open door underneath a brown leaf. This door is the entrance to the Oak Lab. Inside, players will meet BURG.L, the friendly robot – the first chip will be beside him on the floor.

Hedge BURG.L Chip

Players will only have access to this chip after they’ve completed the Hedge Lab Quest. Getting to the Hedge Lab is tedious, but thankfully it’s not too far away from the Hedge Field Station. Moreover, there are 4 areas of the lab to be discovered – the fourth and final area is also the main lab. The Hedge in the bottom-right corner of the map is the region that’s reminiscent of a sideways “L” shape. This area is next to the house and is filled with intertwining branches, leaves, and mushrooms. Most of the journey will require players to walk across many branches – falling anywhere throughout the process will require players to start over. After players have reached the end of the Hedge Lab quest – it’ll be on top of a small white table next to a lever and a red chair.

Red Anthill BURG.L Chip

This chip is much easier to acquire if players equip the Red Ant Armor Set and a torch. Because the inside of the anthill has quite a few splits that make it easy to get lost, we’ve provided a simple guide that entails which directions to take.

Traversing the tunnels in Red Anthill

1. Starting at the top of the Red Anthill, make your way down the main tunnel
2. At the first split, take a (very sharp) left, making a U shape
3. At the next two splits, take the right tunnels
4. Another semi-split will be up ahead, keep going straight (do not take the right one)
5. Shortly after the previous step, another split will appear. Take the right tunnel
6. Keep going (use your torch!) the chip will be on the ground in a corner

Pond BURG.L Chip

This chip will only be available after players complete the Pond Lab Quest. Upon reaching the Pond Lab and completing the Lab Quest, walk up the spiral ramp in the dome room in the lab. At the very top, the chip will be on the chair next to the computer.

Sunken Outpost BURG.L Chip

This is the first chip that’s hidden inside a chest – to unlock this specific chest, players will need to find and acquire the Mossy Key. The Mossy Key is in the depths of the pond, and its recommended players equip their best diving gear and a reliable light source.

Getting the Mossy Key

1. After going to the Pond lab, head into the Pond Depths
2. Underwater there are lamps and tubes – go near the tubes
3. Go to the Algae area – there will be a tunnel opening that leads into a cave. Go inside the cave (beware of spiders) and go all the way to the end
4. Go to the tube with bubbles rising from it, the Mossy Key will be nearby – its green and laying on the ground

Getting to the Treasure Chest

If you remember the T-rex figure before reaching the entrance to the Pond lab, swim over to that area (it’s in the opposite direction from where the Mossy Key is). The chest is close to the figure – inside is the Sunken Outpost BURG.L Chip.

Haze BURG.L Chip

After getting to the Haze Lab, head to the back room, across from the entrance door. The chip will be on a brown desk at the end of the room, on the opposite side of the screen displays.

Picnic BURG.L Chip

This is the second chip that’s inside a chest. Firstly, players will need to find the Minotaur Maze Key to open the chest.

Getting the Minotaur Maze Key

The location players will need to go is just south of the picnic table where the white-water pipe is.

1. The pipe has a broken area to it that’s accessible by swimming through the murky brown water.
2. Upon entering the pipe, turn to the right until you’ve reached the end.
3. Look down and there will be another broken part of the pipe that’ll lead you underwater.
4. When you enter, turn 180 degrees and swim to the soggy roots – tear them down and swim through. The key will be on the ground.

Getting to the Chest

After leaving the pipe, make your way up to the picnic table. Next to the book on, there’s a stone building made of bricks – this is the maze with the chest. Upon entering the maze, here’s a step-by-step list of directions to take to get to the chest:

1. Take a left and go to the end
2. Take a right, and take another right at the door opening past the statue
3. Go straight, maneuver around the statue and take a left
4. Go straight, pass by the white die, and enter the open doorway (the chest is easy to spot before entering – look for blue and yellow)

This chip can be found after completing the Black Anthill Lab Quest. The chip will be on a white counter in front of a black display in the lab.

Sandbox BURG.L Chip

This chip will be locked inside a room in the Sandbox. Unlike a key, players will need to acquire the Assistant Manager Keycard. To get the keycard, players must complete the Black Anthill Lab Quest. The locked room will be in the center area of the sandbox, and the chip will be on the hexagonal table in the room.

Woodpile BURG.L Chip

This chip is in the Termite King Chambers. The safest way to acquire this chip is to clear all the enemies surrounding the area in the woodpile.

Traversing Through the Wood

1. Climb your way into the woodpile, walk through the first tunnel and keep venturing straight
2. Once you come across the splinters, tear them down so you can get through
3. Go straight, at the end take a right
4. Keep going straight and take a right when you see the large termite – the area is lit with sunlight coming through an opening
5. Where the light meets the ground, the last BURG.L chip will be there

Stump BURG.L Chip

This chip can be found inside the Stump Lab Outpost. This lab is more or less a "mini-lab", but it's also the most complicated lab to traverse with its convoluted structure and dilapidated layout. The Stump Lab Outpost is in the uppermost area of the Grasslands, northeast of the pond. This area of the grasslands is ridden towering wood and tons of bracket fungi.

Entry Button (required to open the lab)

1. Swim close to the Pond Lab Outpost door
2. On the wall, there's a large button in the center of a white/grey structure protruding from the dirt
3. Press the button
4. Swim up the hallway
5. Take a right
6. Take another right after entering the previous room, you'll be in front of a closed door
7. Use the Asst. Manager Keycard to open the door
8. In the center of this next room, press the orange button
9. If you look closely at the monitor above the button, it'll show a live surveillance video of the door opening and the light turning green

Moreover, you can also take a glimpse of the area shown in the footage for a hint on the door's location. You'll notice the camera is facing the sky, because the entrance is sideways, sticking up from the ground. This is important to keep in mind when trying to find it.

Finding the Hallway

1. The entrance to the lab is a doorway that leads to a deep hallway that sticks up from the ground.
2. Go to the area shown on the map above
3. Go to the lowermost part of the area near the small bodies of water
4. Against some protruding wood, there will be a tube-like structure in the ground
5. Build something to climb onto the top of the tube (i.e., pebbles)
6. Once on top, jump inside the door

Puzzles

Next, players will traverse through the lab which contains various puzzles to reach the end, simultaneously finding the chip. The primary goal is to open the door labeled "Sector A".

1. After falling down the sideways hall, you'll find yourself in a sideways room - go across to the other side and jump on the glowing blue pylon
2. Jump into the room next to it - loot the Mantis Research Notes while you're at it
3. Jump across the white boxes and then a root that's protruding out of the wall
4. Upon jumping on the root, hop onto the floor to the left side and go to the debris
5. Jump on the white console, then the small root, to the large root, and into a hallway
6. Navigate the halls until you see the water, which you'll need to go into
7. Climb the large root and turn on the console for Sector A
8. Jump on the small root and then jump onto the big box
9. Jump on the debris and then onto a tiny patch on the opposite side
10. Traverse the root and then through the hallway you came from - go into the main room where Sector A is and go inside
11. The chip will be in this room
